Keep trying different materials!
This colored pencil piece was completed on sanded pastel board. I found the progress moved much faster than on most papers. The color lifted well, if needed, to make changes.
It did wear down the lead quickly but you can continue with a flatter tip. This art work was framed in a floater frame.

Do you find your art changing?
On a vacation I took just this past year I observed many paintings. I enjoyed them all but I was drawn to color and impressionism. I'm always on the lookout for something that catches my eye and thinking how it can be applied to watercolor or colored pencil.
This time I thought about how I am always mixing color first and then putting it down on paper. In this study, I painted right from the tube! I found doing this really refreshing! I was thinking the colors as values verses a color as blue or yellow. I applied colors as light, dark or middle tone. Time to do more of this!
I think change is good. It keeps you interested and you find yourself improving!
